After the change is implemented, it is necessary to update all associated records and documentation. This could be required for future reference.

The Change Coordinator must ensure that the Delivery Teams have updated the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) with all changes to the technology configuration items impacted by the change. The CMDB must reflect the actual current state of the associated configuration items (CIs).

The Change Coordinator should also ensure the Change Record is updated with all required information. This could include change implementation activities undertaken, implementation schedules, scripts used, issues faced, actual results etc. Change Coordinator must review the Change Record for its completeness.

The Change Manager should determine if any of the recorded information or change related documentation can be used as a reference for future changes. This could include the Change Plan, Change Implementation Plan, Change Deployment Report, etc. To enable this, the change artefacts must be stored in a central repository for easy access in future.
